[Vid] First Interview with Miss DC 2019, Katelynne Cox
At Arena Stage on Sunday evening, June 23, 2019, Katelynne Cox was crowned Miss District of Columbia 2019. She will go on to represent the District in the Miss America competition.
Cox, a graduate of the University of Missouri, is currently pursuing her MBA while also serving as the manager of fundraising and events at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation. Her social impact initiative for her year of service focuses heavily on her Silence Is Not Compliance organization, one that rehabilitates rape survivors and educates kids on how to prevent sexual violence.
While she’s excited about preparing for Miss America, she says: “Really what I want to be focused on is doing my work in the District and doing my job here, and when Miss America happens, we’ll be ready for it.”
