[Vid] A First Look Inside Nats Ballpark for the 2024 Season

Nats season starts Monday, April 1! Expect a love letter to DC on opening day: When the Washington Nationals play the Pittsburgh Pirates on April 1st, former mayor Anthony Williams will throw out the ceremonial first pitch; fan favorite Dwight Clyde “D.C.” Washington performs the national anthem for the third consecutive year; and Mayor Muriel Bowser calls “Play Ball!”

Otherwise, here’s a first look at what’s new for the 2024 season at National’s Ballpark. A preview tour in advance of opening day includes a sneak peek at new food and merchandise, a demonstration of the new scoreboard, and details on exciting changes to the game time and game entry:

The Nats were hard at work in the offseason making the ballpark experience even better for 2024.

This includes a big new 4780 square foot 8mm pixel resolution scoreboard, a partnership with TagBoard that can put fans’ experiences right into the action, and the replacement of field lights and other lighting fixtures with LED upgrades.

What are fans going to notice? “They are clearer. They are brighter. And they are going to photograph better, ” Ben Smith, Executive Director of Game Production and Engineering told KSM.

Fans will also love the season’s 56 special ticket events, which include six Pups in the Park (first is April 5th!), the largest Night Out in the MLB (June 6th), and four featured music nights with after-game concerts included in the price of the ticket!

There are specials and activations for too many dates to mention — though Stars Wars fans will want to attend during a featured three-day streak May 3-5. Tuesdays are Value Days with discounted tickets, concessions, and parking… and Nats Ballpark has one of the best Happy Hours in town with $5/$6 beers in advance of game play, which now starts at 6:45pm.

So download your GoAhead entry (new!) so you can walk on in and take advantage of all of the food, drinks, new merchandise, and upgraded things to love about Nationals Ballpark this year.

ProTip! District residents can still get the best ticket in town for $5 at the box office (for up to four games per season)… but all others can enjoy games at the same low price — $5 — with a Nats Pass, scoring a standing room only ticket package at $5 a game for the entire season. Nationals Season Plans are also sold into the season.
