Weekend Wants: The Alhambra Bloody Mary Cart
Adding to the list of things we love made-to-order and tableside, Alhambra in the St. Regis Hotel has just launched a Blood Mary Cart.
For more than 80 years now, the Bloody Mary has remained the signature cocktail of the St. Regis brand globally. The story goes that the Bloody Mary itself was perfected by famed barman Fernand Petiot in 1934 at The St. Regis New York’s King Cole Bar. But — originally christened the “Bloody Mary,” the cocktail was renamed the “Red Snapper” so as not to offend the hotel’s refined clientele.
Well, now you can create — and name! — your own. The restaurant’s signature vodka-and-tomato juice indulgence comes with customizable ingredients, garnishes, and more during weekend brunch service.
Expect the Bloody Mary Cart to pull up tableside with a server that allows you to build your own garnish and select mix-ins to personalize with complements like olives, shrimp, cherry tomatoes, and more. (And yes, the cart has all of the ingredients for Alhambra’s most popular The Capitol Mary, inspired by the nearby Chesapeake Bay. This one has a gin base and signature “crab feast” spices.)
Hot tip: Pair your bloody mary with the rich Mediterranean Benedict($25) or the opulent Focaccia French Toast (V)($21).
