This rare Persian gem understands that the unfamiliar can be intriguing, so it offers a unique blend of flavors and ingredients from across the world, combined with classic Iranian heritage, to create a one-of-a-kind dining experience.

Expect seafood dishes sourced from the Caspian Sea and Persian Gulf regions, delectable lamb and duck creations, and lots (and lots) of pistachio.

While any of its platters would be great for groups of friends or families, the numerous small plates are highlights that offer the best chance of sampling your way through the menu.

Batmanglij recommends the Sup-E Pestah, but other standouts include the Duck fesenjoon, which combines succulent duck legs with pomegranate, walnuts, and crispy onions; Lamb and pistachio meatballs; Ashpal Kuku frittata with trout roe; and Sour Cherry or crispy tahdig “Golden Rice.”  And don’t forget to try the complimentary lavash, served fresh from their stone oven!

Joon is located at 8045 Leesburg Pike, Tysons, VA 22182. Open from 11:30 AM to 10 PM, Sunday through Thursday, and from 11:30 AM to 12 AM on Fridays and Saturdays. Reservations by Resy.
