Whip out those whites, DC! SPINBLEDON is upon us.

In celebration of Wimbledon, the tennis tournament across the pond, DC’s SPIN location (a ping pong social club) is hosting a series of table tennis events to incite its own version of head whipping whimsy.

This week, July 8th-12th, SPIN debuts an Astroturf installation at the studio’s center court (think: iconic grass fields of Wimbledon) and offers specialty drinks like those they’ll be sipping in the stands.

Even if you missed the start of SPIN’s community ping pong tournament, there’s still time to get your serve on.  Head out Friday in your best tennis whites for the chance to claim glory over SPIN’s professional players at its White Party.  Communal ping pong tables and smashing happy hour deals will be available all night to those who dress in all white for the occasion. (Entrance free but RSVP’ing here is recommended).

Saturday is family-friendly, with free instructional lessons from professional staff members at center court, face painting for the little twiddles, and kid approved food selections. (Entrance is free for kids under 12; kids 12 and older and adult tickets are $15 and can be purchased here.)

Spin is located in the basement of the National Press Club Building at 1332 F St NW.
