Sofitel DC Debuts ‘Art de Vivre’ Partnership with Vogue
In October, Sofitel Hotels & Resorts and Vogue debuted a global partnership in Paris. #VoguexSofitel’s Art de Vivre is intended to share secrets and savoir-faire with epicureans, fashionphiles, and others wishing to elevate their style… and their Sofitel stay.
Exclusive early experiences in France between the brands included Balmain hairstyling, Diptyque olfactory workshops, and sweet treats from Maison Carrousel, but Art of Living partnerships also now extend to Sofitel properties outside of Europe.
Sofitel Washington DC Lafayette Square was among the first American Sofitel to kick off the partnership, hosting a special evening in early November with fashion icon Beverly Johnson, the first African American model to appear on the cover of American Vogue, and Zerina Akers, visionary costume designer and celebrity stylist to the likes of Beyoncé.
Guests — including Candace Bond, U.S. Ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago, French Ambassador to the U.S. Philippe Etienne, and NBC-4 Anchors Jummy Olabanji and Eun Yang — were treated to Grey Goose Martinis á La Mode and a four-course dinner from Sofitel Washington DC Executive Chef Derek Brooks while enjoying an intimate conversation with the style icons.
Among the topics discussed were Johnson’s and Akers’ career highlights and challenges and how each continues to live life to the fullest, most creative, and best Art de Vivre.
