“DC Scavenger” A Fun New Kind of Local Guide Book

We love a good DC guidebook, so Jo Ann Hill’s “DC Scavenger,” an educational expedition, is definitely a new fun find!

Weird, wonderful — and yes, obscure — DC Scavenger explores all four quadrants of the District through gamification, turning the tour into a veritable treasure hunt!

From monuments to markets, businesses, artworks, and architecture, DC Scavenger features nearly 350 of DC’s most interesting sites, each found by deciphering rhyming clues alongside photography puzzles in an ultimate hidden hunt.

Anyone curious about the Capital City will enjoy following this search through the city, but it’s even more fun when you team up with family and friends.

Want to meet the mastermind behind the book? Author and explorer Jo Ann Hill will be presenting DC Scavenger (along with book signings!) at a free and open-to-the-public event at the Washington DC Public Library Southeast Branch (403 7th St. SE, Washington, DC 20003) Thursday, November 17, from 6:30 – 8 p.m.
