Shinola’s Holiday Kick Off, a Sort Of Political Party

When Ryan Williams, former Press Secretary to Mitt Romney and current Managing Director of FP1 Strategies; Raja Bentaouet Kattan, Lead Specialist for Education and World Practice at the World Bank; and Eric Waldo, Executive Director of Michelle Obama’s Reach Higher Initiative, join in to co-host a charity shop night at Shinola to benefit the Reach Higher Initiative, the result is a party with a lot of political power.

The intimate evening at the Logan Circle Flagship store to kick off the holiday season included such notables as Former Secretary of Education under the Obama administration, John King Jr.; The Washington Post, White House Bureau Chief, Philip Rucker; Chief of Staff to the Co-Chair of the RNC, Molly Donlin; Facebook’s Corporate and Internal Communications Director, Jackie Rooney;  GQ mag D.C. correspondent, Ben Schreckinger; The Washington Post National political reporter, Robert Costa; Bloomberg TV Chief Washington Correspondent, Kevin Cirilli; Haddad Media’s Tammy Haddad; and The New York Times Senior staff editor, Mikayla Bouchard.

Guests sipped champagne while perusing the brand’s product categories, including watches, leather bags, jewelry and more. The mix of high-profile political types and international elites made it an interesting night of shopping and style to summon the season.
