Nationals Serve Up a Rare Whiskey & Dining Experience In the Bullpen
Baseball, bourbon, and the unmistakable thrill of standing on sacred ground—this season, the Washington Nationals are offering an experience that goes far beyond the game. As part of the highly anticipated return of Nationals Park Events’ Exclusive Experiences series, fans and collectors alike are invited to savor a rare pairing of America’s favorite pastime and one of the country’s most sought-after whiskey collections.
On Thursday, June 12, the Nationals’ bullpen transforms into an exclusive fine dining venue for Dinner in the Bullpen, a multi-course culinary event. In a first-of-its-kind moment for Nationals Park, guests will indulge in a gourmet tasting menu while sipping through the complete 2023 and 2024 Buffalo Trace Antique Collections (BTAC)—a bucket-list experience for any serious whiskey aficionado.
Curated by renowned whiskey experts at Mayville, the evening will spotlight side-by-side pours of the BTAC’s iconic lineup: William Larue Weller, Thomas H. Handy, George T. Stagg, Sazerac Rye 18 Year-Old, and Eagle Rare 17 Year-Old. This exceptional access to two consecutive BTAC collections in one tasting makes Dinner in the Bullpen an event of national note—happening, fittingly, in the heart of the nation’s capital.
“Nationals Park is more than just the home of the national pastime in our nation’s capital,” said Jonathan Stahl, Vice President, Nationals Park Events. “From baseball games to concerts and festivals, our venue offers a diverse array of events for visitors all year long. We are excited to continue and expand our Exclusive Experiences series, offering a one-of-a-kind evening under the ballpark lights.”
As the culinary program unfolds on the bullpen mound, guests will be treated to artfully plated dishes that elevate each pour — transforming the experience into a seamless dance of flavor, aroma, and atmosphere. The iconic stadium lights will cast a warm glow over the field, setting the tone for an evening that blends heritage, luxury, and an insider’s view of the ballpark.
And Dinner in the Bullpen is just the beginning. This year, the Exclusive Experiences lineup will expand to include immersive events in the Nationals’ clubhouse, batting cages, and even the dugout, promising fans more behind-the-scenes access than ever before.
For those who crave experiences as rare as the pours they treasure, this is one summer night you won’t want to miss.
