Heist Reopens with Viral Social Marketing Campaign
How does one popular nightspot level up after being named DC’s first #1 Lounge in America in 2018? Heist, Dupont’s bank robbery-themed club lounge, keeps stealing the spotlight by undergoing a complete renovation and opening again even swankier than before — and with savvy and sarcastic social media.
Before officially reopening over Veterans Day weekend, Heist hosted a preview on Election Night. But even before those “first looks” were shared, the viral marketing was in full effect, including an Instagram Reels feature with Joseph Himali’s Best Addresses, cheeky interviews with attendees outside about ‘the problem with DC nightlife,’ and a dedicated hashtag (with stickers!) reminding people that #HeistHappened (and presumably would be happening again).
For those who haven’t stopped by the refreshed Heist since its 2.0 unveiling, the all-new Heist is designed as if you’re tunneling through rock walls under the Shake Shake to arrive in an ultra-cool bank vault where a DJ booth sits in the middle of a pair of bars.
A floating punctured ceiling sitting on pinpoint columns actually raises the height on Heist’s space higher than ever before… and luxe brass finishings elevate the atmosphere as well.

Fun fact: One thing you probably won’t see is the second horn handle on the doors leading into the lounge from Jefferson Place. Because there really was a heist and this was stolen in the days before re-opening.
Heist is open Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday after 10 PM.
