Whether you’re just not done with the holidays or are looking to extend your festive winter escape as you safely dine outdoors, you won’t want to miss out on HalfSmoke DC’s Winter Wonderland.

This continuing pop-up is a 2500 square foot oasis with a dozen igloos and other outdoor tables that takes you a world away from the Capitol craziness… at least for 90 minutes (the length of an igloo reservation)… with socially distanced dining in a fun and photo-friendly atmosphere.

Open daily from 8 AM – 10 PM, Winter Wonderland guests will enjoy almost overwhelming options from HalfSmoke DC’s hefty menu. There’s the all-day breakfast plates from HalfSmoke’s newest concept Morning After Next, a prix-fixe brunch or bottomless happy hour (both best bets for sure!), HalfSmoke’s famed house-made sausage and wood-grilled entrĂ©es, and even seasonal drinks galore.

Among the popular plates, KSM especially loves the Seafood Hash, complete with crabcake, shrimp, egg, and a more-than-generous serving of Old Bay cubed potatoes, and the Fried Green Tomatoes served with chicken sausage. You also can’t go wrong with any of the piled high pancake plates or Butter Me Up sandwiches — and neglecting to order the cinnamon sugar doughnuts would be a major miss.

Staff carries food over from the physical restaurant across and down the street and hands plates to diners through the flap in their igloo, which can be entirely closed or unzipped for ventilation.

Both inside igloos and around the Wonderland, there are heaters, music, board games, inflatables, and a merry atmosphere that keeps the seasonal spirit alive.

$50 fee for igloo rental Friday through Sunday; no reservation fee on weekdays.
