Grinch Musical Enchants at National Theatre
It’s the perfect show to get you — and the little ones! — in the holiday spirit.
Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical plays at the National Theatre through December 31st. This enchanting classic story makes an exciting stage show for both adults and children.
You know the story. But in this on-stage version, a “retiring” Max the Dog narrates the tale and reminisces on his younger days as the scheming Grinch — whose heart is “two sizes too small” — not only discovers there is more to Christmas than he originally thought, but finds his first real friend.
Of course, Cindy Lou Who steals the show with her precociousness and the Grinch charms — even when he’s being his nastiest. Young Max keeps the show energetic and engaging while providing much of the comic relief.
Audiences can’t help but sing along with popular songs like “You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch” and “Welcome Christmas” as they delight in Christmas preparations with the Whos in Whoville and worry over the Grinch’s evil plot to steal the holiday.
Thank goodness for hearts growing three sizes — and that limited tickets still remain!
