Country ham and Chesapeake Oysters have been a long-standing Virginia tradition since Martha Washington baked her first chocolate cake.  Obviously Virginia has a rich culinary history.

There will be dishes that were inspired by recipes from the 1800s – like “stewed” cherry tomatoes, Virginia peanut soup and shrimp & grits – as well as a festive afternoon full of regional wine tastings and live music, as the inaugural Virginia Festival runs from June 17—June 30, featuring spirits, wines, and recipes that stand the test of time.

America Eats Tavern General Manager David Strong is especially excited that this season’s produce will peak during the event, giving way to some unique but classic featured dishes that can be found here. Daily specials will feature various spirits and exclusive wine pairings created by Master Sommelier Andy Meyers.  And don’t miss out on Friday, June 19, when the much anticipated “Blend Your Own Bordeaux” competition will be hosted.
