Five DC Restaurants With Special Dog Menus

There are plenty of lists about DC’s most dog-friendly establishments, pet-preferred things to do, and definitely places to hang out with your pooch on the patio.  But we’ve found five area restaurants that really step up their service by offering special items for pups on their menu… because when we’re out having a good time, Fido should be enjoying some good eats and treats, too!

Most people likely know that Shake Shack has a “Woof” section on its menu, offering “treats for those with four feet”: the Bag O’ Bones — a doggie bag of five ShackBurger dog biscuits by Bocce’s Bakery — and the Pooch-ini — ShackBurger dog biscuits with peanut butter sauce and vanilla custard.

Art & Soul (415 New Jersey Ave. NW) boasts its own “Pooch Patio” menu with special pup-friendly items like the Gravy Train (house made beef and rice in savory gravy), The Hungry Dawg (grilled and sliced sirloin), The Raw Deal (frozen beef bones) and Peanut-Banana Pup-sicles.  There’s even Bowser Beer to quench your furry companion’s thirst!

Humans can get coffee and sweet treats at Colada Shop (1405 T Street NW) while their pets enjoy specially made guava and peanut butter cookies.

City Tap Dupont (1250 Connecticut Ave. NW) has a Sunday Yappy Hour from 4-7pm on the patio while the weather stays warm.  $5 beers, $6 house wines, and $7 premium mixed cocktails entice those with two legs, while four-legged furry friends enjoy a full “Doggy Menu” packed with a variety of proteins (chicken, steak, burger, salmon) atop their choice of white rice or farro, and dessert options, like vanilla ice cream with peanut butter.

(bacon bits, hard boiled egg, shredded cheese), and If Last Night was “Ruff” (black beans, spinach, carrots, corn).
