DC Diners Are Feasting on This Collab — Yours Truly’s Duet Dinner Series

Who needs a duel when you can have a duet?

Yours Truly Hotel‘s Duet Dinner Series is solidifying its spot in both DC’s foodie and philanthropy scenes with a monthly host-and-guest chef dinner that benefits a cause close to the kitchen.

The September Duet Dinner, in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, featured Yours Truly restaurant Mercy Me‘s Executive Chef Sammy Diaz making sweet, sweet music menu with guest Chef Gerardo Alcaraz of Aldama in Brooklyn. In an unknowingly timely move, the Chefs chose to have the dinner support farmers in Puerto Rico and other businesses destroyed by Hurricane Maria… and now Fiona.

Attendees will meet both chefs and enjoy an up-close-and-personal look at how each prepares dishes in a four-course meal focused on locally-sourced ingredients. And while it’s not a competition but more of a collaboration, that won’t stop you from comparing as each chef presents their version of each plate. (Yes, you feast on 8 dishes!)

And, should you choose, each course can be expertly paired with creative cocktails from Mercy Me’s Beverage Director Micah Wilder and Bar Manager Hunter Douglas.

These dinners are truly a performance of multiple artists.
