DC’s Best New Rooftop Rendezvous: Ciel Social Club
It is no secret that DC loves a rooftop. So the city is salivating over the new and exclusive open-air penthouse lounge high above downtown, Ciel Social Club.
Officially open on Veteran’s Day, November 11th, DC trendsetters were invited to preview the space and taste all the cocktails during a sneak peek party earlier this month.
Sunset snaps, champagne sips, and a soundtrack spun by DJ Samantha Ronson provided some of the evening’s allure, but Executive chef Paul Yellin’s menu, creative cocktails, and a panoramic point of view will keep patrons coming back over and over again.
Located atop the AC Hotel by Marriott in Mount Vernon Triangle (601 K Street NW), Ciel Social Club is the newest nightlife hotspot from Versus, the ownership group behind funtime favorites like HEIST, Casta’s Rum Bar, Morris American Bar, and Leila.
Named — in French — for sky or heaven, Ciel is, indeed, high above the city center’s hustle and bustle, with remarkable 360-degree views of the Washington Monument, Capitol, and downtown DC, but fancy design details — like a 12-foot brass chandelier hanging at the center of the space — prove Ciel deserves just as much interior attention.
A variety of seating vignettes inside and an outdoor terrace offer intimate spaces for groups, friends, or couples on date night to eat, imbibe, and enjoy. Ciel officially opens on November 11, 2021 and will be open on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings, with full service and brunch coming soon.
