Wednesday evening at the Croatian Embassy, the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to the United States, H.E. Pjer Šimunović, and the Director of the Croatian National Tourist Office for North America, Ms. Leila Krešić-Jurić, hosted a reception celebrating 25 years of the Croatian National Tourist Board in the United States.

“Croatia did not enter the Top Ten or Top 15 [travel destinations] just because of the last few years,” Krešić-Jurić said, “but so many things have been done in 25 years.”

She said the country’s goal is to achieve a million arrivals, and this year is already on track to be a record year.

In particular, the Croatian National Tourist Board has noted a lot of investment in luxury hotels and small boutique hotels, with Americans especially enjoying the country’s renovated palaces.

She also touted Delta, United Airlines, and Turkish Airlines investments in routes — some direct — to cities in Croatia.
