Cocktails 101 ;)

Ever tried to make your way through all 101 cocktails in Gaz Regan’s Annual Manual for Bartenders (2011)?  Yeah, neither have we.  Yet.

But two of DC’s most celebrated bartenders — and founders of Behind the Stick Consulting Group — Jamie MacBain and Jo-Jo Valenzuela are hoping you’ll join them to do just that.  The pair is launching an innovative 18-class cocktail series where they will recreate them all!

In a nine-week program that will be offered Saturdays and Sundays starting in late February, MacBain and Valenzuela will focus on five to seven cocktails per class where they will discuss, deconstruct, and recreate the selected drinks using only the original (and sometimes obscure) ingredients and techniques as detailed in Regan’s Manual.

“DC has a lot to offer when is comes to the basics, the classics… introductions to spirits, wines, ports, etc. We saw an opportunity to showcase and educate cocktail novices and masters alike about today’s modern cocktails as catalogued by one of our industry’s leading spirits experts and all-around cocktail genius, Gaz Regan,” say the duo.

Classes ($140- $900)will be held at McClellan’s Retreat (2031 Florida Avenue NW, Washington, DC) from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm every Saturday and Sunday starting Saturday, February 27, 2016.
