One particular detail that sets the fest in motion is the Official Artwork Reveal, which happened at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in late November.

Next year’s artwork is by Jamaican-born artist Anna August, the Official Artist of the 2025 National Cherry Blossom Festival, and is titled “Bloom.”

August is an artist with Park West Gallery, which claims to be the world’s largest art dealer. Her piece depicts the captivating beauty of the cherry blossoms on canvas with bold vibrant colors.

“My art is my way of capturing the beauty and ever-changing moments of life, so being able to share that through the cherry blossoms an iconic symbol of renewal and joy is truly amazing,” August said. “I want people to feel joy, serenity, and perhaps a bit of nostalgia when they see the artwork. I hope it reminds them of the magic that the blossoms bring each year and give a sense of connection to the festival.”

Also at the artwork reveal, the Festival made some other programming announcements, including the return of Walt Disney World® as a partner, bringing Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse as part of the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade® for the third year in a row.

The 2025 commemorative pin, designed by Laurel Lukaszewski, a Maryland-based artist who also serves as an Emeritus Board Member for the Festival, was also released. A portion of the proceeds from the annual commemorative pin supports the Trust for the National Mall’s Cherry Tree Fund, ensuring the beautiful cherry trees thrive for future generations.
