Mamma Mia! Brings the ABBA-solutely Good Vibes to DC
A mother, a daughter, three possible dads, and a Greek island getaway that makes wedding-season drama look downright delightful.

MAMMA MIA! has sashayed into the National Theatre, bringing sunshine, sequins, and a soundtrack that definitely demands a sing-along — and gets one! Set against a dreamy island paradise, this feel-good favorite follows a bride-to-be on a mission to uncover her father’s identity, inviting three men from her mother’s past back into the picture. Cue the romantic entanglements, family revelations, and ABBA hits that never go out of style.

With a story steeped in love, friendship, and a little identity intrigue, Mamma Mia! delivers a bubbly blend of nostalgia and pure escapism entertainment. The comedy is contagious, but the music is decidedly the main attraction.
Among the standout numbers are “Dancing Queen,” “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight),” “Voulez-Vous,” and “Mamma Mia.” But the most memorable musical moment has to be Jessica Crouch’s rendition of “The Winner Takes It All.”

At two hours and 35 minutes, including intermission, it’s a full evening of feel-good fun, girl power, and a reminder that sometimes the best way to say I do is with a little disco fever.
Grab your seats! MAMMA MIA! runs through November 15th.
