Purée Juice Bar Pours Into Georgetown
Georgetown is getting a fresh squeeze. Purée Juice Bar, a DC favorite since 2011, is opening its doors at 1511 Wisconsin Avenue NW . A second location is slated to follow this fall at Cabin John Village in Potomac.
The expansion marks a new chapter for co-owners Dyala Madani and Kaveh Shirazi, who took over the brand in 2025 after years as loyal customers. Their focus: keep what works, refine what doesn’t ,and bring the Purée experience to more neighborhoods.
“We were customers before we were owners, so we know firsthand what makes Purée different,” says Madani. That means maintaining the standards and sense of community that have kept customers coming back while introducing a refreshed experience.
Since its early days at local farmers markets, Purée has built its business around a straightforward premise: good ingredients, no shortcuts. Its juices are made with 100% certified organic produce, raw and cold-pressed, without high-pressure processing. Bottled in glass, they’re meant to be enjoyed fresh within three to four days.
The menu extends beyond the juice case, with organic smoothies, grab-and-go bowls, wraps and nutrient-dense snacks. In other words, there’s more than one way to make a lunch break count.
But Purée’s pitch isn’t just about what’s on the menu. Team members, known as “Puristas,” are trained in hospitality first, with an emphasis on helping guests navigate their options. The new locations are designed with that same neighborhood-minded approach: bright, open spaces and ample seating that invite customers to linger rather than simply grab and go.
“We believe how you feel when you leave is just as important as what’s in your bottle or bowl,” says Shirazi.
It’s a philosophy the brand has carried from its first brick-and-mortar location on Bethesda Row to outposts at Mosaic District, Sibley Memorial Hospital, and Equinox in Tysons Corner, as well as its presence at Whole Foods Market.
Now, Purée plants roots in Georgetown.
