$500,000+ Raised at Luke’s Wings’ 10th Heroes Gala
Supporters came together at the Waldorf Astoria Saturday night for the 10th Luke’s Wings Heroes Gala, a night dedicated to celebrating its mission of providing complimentary flights to wounded, ill, and injured service members, Veterans, first responders, and their families during recovery and rehabilitation. The non-profit raised over $500,000 for its cause.
The event, which happened to be on Armed Forces Day, featured Miss America Madison Marsh, a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force; Johnny Joey Jones, a bomb technician who served eight years in the Marines; and Jacqueline Matter, with long history of her own family military service as well.
The night of celebration also included singing action painter Joe Everson, tenor Issachah Savage, and a heartrending personal message from Marine veteran and six-time cancer survivor Edward Shrank.
In a ‘paddle-raise’ auction to assist fundraising efforts, $100,000 of donations were matched by generous sponsor SRS Distribution.
