This DC Hotel is About to Offer ‘Sound Baths’

While it might sounds like something that happens at a rock concert, a sound bath is actually an ancient healing mediation technique used to reduce blood pressure, anxiety, and increase overall wellness.  And one DC luxury hotel is now offering sound baths during Fall/Winter 2018 at a special event — and in a special stay package — you’ll want to know about.

When the Park Hyatt hosts its annual Masters of Food and Wine event on Sunday, November 4th, there will be a little something audible alongside all of the things edible.

Tea Specialist Christian Eck and Sound Bath Meditation Expert Robert Lee of Human Activation will offer a unique 45 minute sound bath mediation session using Tibetan singing bowls in one of the luxury meeting areas on the hotel’s lower level.

Tibetans have been using these instruments, some of which are over 200 years old, for more than 2,000 years to relax, recharge and cleanse the soul.  It’s all about sonic frequency technology, and its meant to be the ultimate in relaxation.

Following the 45-minute meditation session, guests will enjoy a Òmatcha station along with mindful herbal teas paired with complementary lite bites.

Can’t make it to the Masters event?  Relax!  You can rejuvenate with a sound bath throughout the winter with Park Hyatt Washington, DC’s Holiday Wellness Retreat package, available through February 28, 2019.  Add a 45 minute sound bath to overnight accommodations and (up to four guests) can experience a sound bath in your own suite.  Afterwards, Eck will enhance the calming and soothing effects of the meditative experience by serving carefully selected teas.
