Hay-Adams Launches “Sunset Spritz” Rooftop Pop-Up for August
There’s a new way to toast summer in Washington, and it comes with a spritz and a skyline.
For the month of August only, The Hay-Adams is opening the doors to its famously exclusive Top of the Hay rooftop venue for a limited-time cocktail pop-up called Sunset Spritz—and it’s every bit the golden-hour escape we absolutely knew we needed.
Running two nights a week from 4 to 8 pm, this indoor/outdoor experience channels the breezy elegance of the Amalfi Coast, complete with handcrafted Italian spritzes (and a non-alcoholic option) and sweeping views of the White House, the Washington Monument, and downtown DC.
If you’ve ever wanted to sip an Aperol Spritz while watching the sun dip behind the Washington skyline, this is your moment.
The menu, curated by The Hay-Adams’ Bar Manager Jeremiah Frazier, is a sunny symphony of summer flavors: think Limoncello Spritz, Venetian Spritz, Averna Spritz, and even an Italicus version featuring the floral notes of bergamot. There’s also a thoughtful zero-proof offering featuring Lyre’s Italian Spritz for those skipping the alcohol but not the vibe.

“Sunset Spritz is inspired by the feeling of encountering beauty, charm, and a spectacular view, and what better way to bring that to life than a pop-up inspired by Italian summers and celebrating our stunning location,” said Alex Roig, Director of Food & Beverage at The Hay-Adams. “The spontaneity of discovering Sunset Spritz is part of the fun—finding out it’s open, gathering your friends, and enjoying the ambiance, glass in hand.”
Sunset Spritz is walk-in only, with new dates announced weekly here. So grab your posh posse, dress with a hint of Riviera flair, and arrive early… because the only thing better than DC in the summer is DC with a spritz in hand, five floors above the ordinary.
