Bow-Woutings: Three DC Summer Outings to Enjoy with Your Dog
August is a special time in DC when things slow down a bit and everyone gets to explore a little more. And dogs love summer, too! So if your dog deserves a little summer fun, take advantage of these three local bow-woutings that are just for you and your furry friend:
The Courtyard Bar at the pet-friendly Fairmont Washington, D.C., Georgetown invites you and your pup to weekly Tail Wag Tuesday events. Every Tuesday at 5:00pm, four-legged guests will enjoy Puptails and a V.I.P, Very Important Puppy menu, which Fairmont’s Canine Ambassador, Georgie, gives her Five-Wag rating! (Humans must order off their own menu.)
Forget Miami or LA — National Landing’s new NaLa Beach Club is a coastal-inspired pop-up that has an eye-catching cabana, an Instagrammable Airstream, and lets your dog in on the fun during Bark at the Beach (September 7).
You can’t take the metro with your dog to get there, but you two can stop by metrobar’s monthly (or more) Yappy Hours where you’ll enjoy some outside time with eats, treats, toys, and belly rubs from 5pm-7pm. We hear your pup can even get their paws on some Doggie Beer and puppuccinos!
If you don’t yet have a pup to take with you to these fun outings, keep in mind that many animal shelters in the D.C. area say they are overcrowded with dogs and need help to find them forever homes — and that could be you!
