PorchFest Returns with 2x As Large Pedestrian Zone
Adams Morgan is turning up the volume with PorchFest again on Saturday, May 2. And this time, it’s even bigger!
The Adams Morgan Partnership Business Improvement District brings back its most beloved block-by-block bash: Spring PorchFest. From 2 to 6pm on May 2nd, this free, feel-good festival transforms the neighborhood into a living, breathing soundtrack with 100+ bands, dozens of porches, and one seriously stacked afternoon of sound.
Classic rock, funk, go-go, rap, reggae, bluegrass, classical, pop; if it’s got a beat, it’s got a porch. This year’s lineup leans louder and larger, with expanded performance zones stretching from Columbia Road to Florida Avenue, plus a car-free corridor that lets you wander, weave, and fully lean into the music.
Headliners are bringing the heat, too. There’s La Unica, the genre-bending, Irish-Latin fusion group making waves nationwide; Jackson Perkins, a rising country name with serious star power; and crowd-pleasing youth sets from School of Rock, proving the next generation is more than ready for the spotlight.
Beyond the beats, the neighborhood shows up in full force. Nearly 50 local businesses are rolling out specials and discounts, turning the day into a dine-shop-sway situation. Grab a music map, snag a free wristband, and bounce between bites, boutiques, and bands without missing a measure.
Tens of thousands turn out for PorchFest every year, and it’s easy to see why. It’s unmistakably DC and undeniably fun.
