Shiver Me Timbers! Hook Hall Open for Multi-Purpose in Petworth

Pirates ahoy! Hook Hall — yes, named in honor of that legendary marauder of the seas — is ready to serve as your new local watering hole and scuttlebutt (social) spot. And did we mention that it’s designed to be reminiscent of a boat… gangplank included?

All in all, the once iconic Peoples’ Drugstore is a reimagined 13,500 square-foot industrial venue in Park View/Petworth that offers coffee, pastries, and co-working desks by day, but (yo ho ho!) it goes all trendy tavern at night.

It can hold hundreds, so it’s destined for meetings, corporate events, weddings/rehearsal dinners, or anything really.  Five main areas — including a sizable outdoor pavilion — can be partitioned or used together.

And Blimey! There’s an upscale beer garden with a huge deck featuring its own bar and private cabanas dubbed ‘Outside Hook Hall.’

But our favorite part may be Hook Hall’s “Dark & Stormy” wall, with its large ombre shaded mural that looks like the churning sea. Bonus points for it doubling as a projection screen.

Hook Hall (3400 Georgia Ave NW) is open Sunday through Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to midnight.
