Earlier this week, Hired — an online marketplace that connects technical talent with growing companies — feted its official DC launch at Rogue24.  Sixty local top CEO, CTO and tech leadership guests were wined and dined by Chef RJ Cooper’s custom menu as they discussed tech sector growth within the region.

Headquartered in San Francisco, Hired was founded in 2012 and has since grown to 110 people in 11 markets… now including DC.  During Hired’s 6-month beta period, over 5000 engineers and 140 companies — such as Opower, Trackmaven, Videoblocks, Contactually, Everfi and Araxid — in the area have signed up for the fast-growing service.

“Our goal is to be the talent pipeline that fuels innovation,” said Matt Mickiewicz, Hired CEO.  A preliminary study found that the District’s strongest unmet demand is for Ruby Engineers — but the market’s most prevalent skillset is Java.
