New Coastal Italian Restaurant Capitano Opens at The Wharf

Capitano has cruised into The Wharf with a splash of sun-soaked Southern Italian spirit. This coastal charmer opened in March, docking inside Canopy by Hilton at The Wharf, and delivering a delicious dose of la dolce vita just steps from the Potomac.

Capitano was designed to deliver delight all day long. The restaurant captivates with a piazza-inspired palette (think weathered wood, cerulean ceramic tiles, and floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the space with soft, seaside-style sunlight). It’s airy, it’s inviting, and it has an indulgent menu, too!

Fresh seafood stars in a rotating roster of crudo and coastal classics, while housemade pastas parade across plates with plenty of personality. Vivid salads and seasonal specialties showcase the kitchen’s ingredient-driven commitments… and Capitano’s beverage program is equally beguiling. Whether you’re sipping something citrusy or savoring something sparkling, every glass is meant to feel like a mini mental vacation.

Plus, open-air options and waterfront views further elevate the dining experience, making Capitano a prime pick for picturesque dining.

Capitano’s (975 7th St SW, Washington, DC 20024) breakfast begins bright and early at 6:30 am on weekdays (7:00 a.m. on weekends), while dinner dazzles nightly until 10:00 pm.
