National Geography Bee Comes to DC Next Week
Fifty-four geography “geeks” (we mean that in the best way!) will be in town next week for the 2017 National Geographic Bee!
These state-level winners, ages 10-14, represent all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Atlantic Territories, Pacific Territories and Department of Defense Dependents Schools.
They are competing on Monday, May 15th at the Washington Plaza Hotel in this final championship moderated by Mo Rocca.
Top prize is a $50,000 college scholarship, a lifetime membership in the National Geographic Society (including a subscription to National Geographic magazine), and an all-expenses-paid Lindblad expedition to the Galápagos Islands aboard the new National Geographic Endeavour ll!
The final and championship rounds will air on the National Geographic Channel and Nat Geo WILD at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Friday, May 19th.
