Inside the 11th Annual Old Town Warehouse Sale

20160206_090951The 11th annual Alexandria Boutique Warehouse Sale was back with a fresh new look. This year’s sale took over a HUGE ballroom at The Westin Alexandria… with more space for local women to shop for the best deals with a lot more breathing room and much better lighting. The Warehouse Sale has become the perfect place to shop for hostess gifts, birthday presents for best gal pals, and of course, splurge on yourself!

Free entry for everyone means lines started to que up an hour before doors opened — with women waiting in yoga wear ready to try on everything from coats (that retail for $600, but sold for less than $150!) to shoes (on such a deep discount they made you want to cut a toe off to make them work). Checking your coat was just one strategy to stay hands-free, so shoppers could try on everything from Tory Burch shoes to iconic bright prints of Lilly Pulitzer.20160206_090825

The amazing sale prices were a boon — camaraderie was another.  The place was awash with compliments… on deals and on how great each other would look come summer!

The most popular booth of the day might have been the Shoe Hive, where earlybirds made a bee line upon entry.   But some got side tracked by the new kid on the Warehouse Sale floor: LuLuLemon!  Boutique owners who weren’t selling could be seen shopping at their neighbor’s booths, and camera crews tried to stay out of the way as groups of women dashed into makeshift dressing rooms — emerging in deals with 20160206_082119huge smiles.

Twenty-nine boutiques later, women walked away with huge deals, and a great location for brunch with the rest of their day still ahead!
