The Hilton Alexandria Mark Center recently joined forces with Alexandria’s Torpedo Factory Art Center to create a new popular place to appreciate local art.

Following its recent major renovation, the 428-room Hilton Alexandria Mark Center now showcases an exhibition of some of the Torpedo Art Center’s most distinguished creators in its refreshed lobby.

“Torpedo Factory Art Center on the Road: Hilton Alexandria Mark Center” will be on view from October 21, 2022, through February 12, 2023.

“Our partnership with the Torpedo Factory Art Center is incredibly special, as celebrating Alexandria’s local culture is placed at the forefront of what Hilton Alexandria Mark Center represents,” Greg Langweg, General Manager of Hilton Alexandria Mark Center said in advance of the unveiling.

“Along with guests being able to enjoy products and treats sourced from local businesses, which we just debuted at our new Marketplace, they can now experience the talents of Alexandria’s best artists.”

The exhibit features fifteen original artworks from the Torpedo Factory’s top Resident Artists and Artists Pro Tem, selected through a competitive jury process.

Tara Barr and Sierra Barnes’s work includes fun and whimsical depictions and styles of carousel horses; Charlene Nield and Jacelyn Orellana explore figurative painting, abstracted through process; Photographers Jenny Nordstrom and Mike Stevens find narrative and composition through the lens of their cameras; while artists such as Beverly Ryan, Alison Sigethy, and Sally Veach use varied process to develop abstract forms rotating between flat plain and dimensional space. You’ll have go see the works of Saya Behnam, Rashad Ali Muhammad, Yoshiko Ratliff, Alanna Rivera, and Jessica Valories for yourself.

Not able to make it before next Valentine’s Day? Both the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center and Torpedo Factory Art Center say they plan to extend this partnership to include future featured art exhibitions in the hotel’s refreshed lobby through 2023.
