HalfSmoke’s New Quarantini Cocktail Series Will Make Your Virtual HH So Happy
HalfSmoke recently announced its new twice-weekly Quarantini Virtual Cocktail Series and everyone’s virtual happy hour just got a whole lot happier.
Partnering with seven notable Washington-area bartenders to host a series of virtual happy hours through mid-May, Shaw’s HalfSmoke is livestreaming virtual cocktail classes via its Instagram account (@halfsmokeDC) on Mondays and Thursdays, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
These bi-weekly cocktail tutorials are complimentary and will teach viewers everything from tropical-style tiki drinks, to immune-boosting libations and aphrodisiac cocktails to spice up the night. Seven local bartenders will share tips, tricks, and home-bartending ideas while demonstrating a series of crafty libations using ingredients most people readily have.
Here’s the line-up:
Well+Good on Thursday, April 23, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Bartenders Lisandro Meza and Michael Loria of Tiger Fork will spotlight a series of aphrodisiac and medicinal cocktails inspired by Chinese medicine.
Caribbean Breeze on Monday, April 27, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Bartender Fabian Malone of Left Door and Dougie’s Backyard will be on hand to pour The (rummy) Jamaican Godfather.
Quarantine Favorites on Thursday, April 30, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Bartender Kat Basile of Don Tito will stop by to demo two of her favorite libations — one made with mezcal, the other with rum.
Tried-and-True on Monday, May 4, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Malachi Smith of Lily & The Cactus will pay respect to the classics, focusing on the world’s favorite and most endearing libations: the Daquiri, Margarita and Micheladas.
Bartender’s Choice on Thursday, May 7, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Bartender Cassie Womack of Bidwell Union Market will stop by to demo two mystery cocktails. Doesn’t that sound exciting?!
Don’t forget to tip your bartender! Viewers are also encouraged to leave a ‘virtual tip’ by sending money to the bartender’s Venmo, Cash App or Zelle accounts.
