Grab Your Seats: Mike Birbiglia’s ‘The New One’ A Laugh-Out-Loud Confessional Comedy

Comedian Mike Birbiglia kicked off his four-city tour of his new hit Broadway play The New One at the National Theatre.  The short run of this confessional comedy runs only through September 29th, so don’t sleep on getting your tickets!

Think you don’t know Birbiglia’s comedy?  You’ll realize you’ve seen him in Billions, Orange is the New Black, and Broad City. But in this one man show, Birbiglia shares personal fears and failures… and ‘fesses up some truly embarrassing happenings, in a story that’s generally about Fatherhood and change.

You’ll laugh tears over his detailed reasons for not wanting a child and how he’s finally convinced to go through quite a process to have one.  And you’ll gasp as he says things that people won’t admit to saying (or wanting to say).

What will his daughter Oona think of this when she’s old enough to see it?  Probably the same thing you will as you catch it during its debut here in DC… That’s darn funny!

The New One is recommended to ages 13 and up and runs approximately 1 hour, 20 minutes with no intermission.
