Giant’s [Virtual] National Capital BBQ Battle a Month of Food, Music, and More

Now in its 29th year, the National Capital Barbecue Battle, a food and music festival sponsored by Giant, is returning for a month-long virtual experience.

It may be online, but the tips and tricks are just as tasty, and the musical performances sound just as delicious, too. And it’s completely free!

May 28 through the end of June, log on to join in for interactive activities and social engagements like cooking demonstrations and recipe shares with BBQ best bets coming from some of the nation’s top Pitmasters like Myron Mixon and Ray “Dr. BBQ;” musical performances from national artists like Grammy-nominated country singer-songwriter Cole Swindell and EDM duo Breathe Carolina as well as local sound stars; pairing techniques for your barbecue at Corks to Caps with suggestions for accompanying wines, spirits, and microbrews; and even a Kids’ Zone and Monumental sports experiences with challenges from the Washington Wizards, Capitals, and Mystics.

And of course, you can register to compete in the actual BBQ Battle! All categories are open to the public with thousands of dollars in prizes.

While the entire series of events is free, your choice to round up your total at the check-out of your local Giant will help the Giant National Capital Barbecue Battle to benefit USO Metropolitan Washington-Baltimore.
