Gaylord Reopening July 1 With Renovations

Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center has set its reopening date for July 1, 2021. On that date, the resort will debut a $64 million guestroom renovation, enhanced cleaning protocols, and new summer activities highlighting the 19-story garden atrium and waterfront.

“We are thrilled to reopen our doors and welcome back guests to experience our beautiful newly reimagined resort – just in time for the summer travel season,” said Dan McKeon, area general manager. “Our luxurious guestrooms have been totally re-designed to offer guests a personal oasis where they can enjoy everything the resort and destination have to offer.”

Guestroom design inspiration features elements of the Capital Region, including peaceful blues of the water and copper penny accents.

The resort has 110 suites with new looks also inspired by the area’s landmarks and history, such as The Cherry Blossom, The First Ladies, and the former presidential yacht The Sequoia.

The 1,996-room hotel features more than 600,000 square feet of meeting and exhibit space, making it the largest non-gaming resort and convention center on the East Coast.  And as of its reopening date of July 1, the resort will operate in accordance with Marriott International’s “Commitment to Clean” standards with hospital-grade disinfectants, frequent sanitation, and other enhanced cleaning protocols.
