The Adams Morgan Partnership Business Improvement District (AMPBID) announced that PorchFest will return for its Spring 2025 edition the afternoon of Saturday, May 3, 2025. This iconic neighborhood festival will bring together local and regional talent with Gangstagrass, the Emmy-nominated bluegrass hip-hop fusion band, headlining the main stage.
The beloved annual event turns Adams Morgan’s porches, business patios, and public spaces into stages for local music performances across genres from bluegrass and jazz to indie rock, soul, and hip-hop. The event will be spread out across the iconic 18th Street corridor and surrounding areas, turning the neighborhood into a lively and music-filled destination.
Gangstagrass, known for their signature blend of bluegrass instrumentation and hip-hop rhymes, will take center stage, bringing an unforgettable performance to the Adams Morgan community. As one of the most anticipated performances of the day, their appearance marks an exciting chapter in Adams Morgan’s history, where diverse musical genres and communities come together.
“We are so excited to bring Gangstagrass to Adams Morgan for PorchFest this Spring,” said Kristen Barden, Executive Director of AMPBID. “PorchFest is all about celebrating the diversity and creativity that make Adams Morgan so special. Gangstagrass embodies this spirit perfectly, and we can’t wait for the neighborhood to hear their music for the first time or the hundredth time.”
The event will also feature three main stages: the Plaza Main Stage (located at 1800 Columbia Road NW), the Aetna Main Stage (in front of 2424 18th Street NW), and the Marie Reed Stage (at Marie Reed Elementary School’s Plaza). Guests can pick up wristbands at designated locations and enjoy exclusive discounts at neighborhood businesses.
PorchFest is a free event open to all, with families, locals, and visitors alike invited to join in the fun. A detailed lineup of performers, locations, and additional event information will be available at admodc.org in the coming months.
The Adams Morgan Partnership BID continues to work tirelessly to create dynamic, community-driven experiences, and PorchFest is one of the highlights that fosters both local pride and economic growth for the neighborhood
