DC Pink-Tie’s One On To Kick Off Cherry Blossom Fest
The Ronald Reagan International Trade Center was awash in pink Friday night (March 22) for one of DC’s most spirited Cherry Blossom Festival events, the Pink Tie Party.
Guests arrived in their poshest and pinkest to enjoy delicious spring inspired cuisine and cocktails from such local favorites as Ana at District Winery, Dyllan’s Raw Bar & Grill, Kaliwa by Restaurant Eve, Kingbird at the Watergate, Thai Chef Street Food, and TICO.
Oh He Dead performed its special blend of electro-pop in between DJ sets. Yusaku Mochizuki mesmerized with digital poi sticks. And Simon Bull did live art painting before everyone’s eyes, making a masterpiece in just 15 minutes; he also sold an original in the silent auction to raise extra funds for the Foundation.
There was an AR bar courtesy of ARTECHOUSE where craft cocktails came “alive” via an augmented realty app experience. ANA’s AR Video Booth kept with the popular virtual reality theme, taking participants to Japan to see cultural scenes and and walk through blooming cherry blossom trees.
Other event amusements included corporate sponsored selfie booths, a chip-and-slot game of PINKU, a “vegetable garden” and “botanical bar,” swings, and even a Whispering Angel Roseé beverage bike.
