Beloved Jewish “American BBQ” Truck Goes Brick-and-Mortar
Chef Jarrad Silver’s Jewish-deli-“American BBQ” food truck created a foodie frenzy.
Signature items beloved by Silver’s food truck fans, like that delectable Short Rib Pastrami, mouthwatering Prime Brisket, flavorful Pulled Lamb Shoulder… Smoked Turkey Breast… Pastrami-Spiced Mushrooms… were so popular Chef had to open a stationary spot. And this new Bethesda anchor for the BBQ truck features even more creative specials.
Silver and Sons BBQ (5362 Westbard Ave. Bethesda) allows for pre-prepared carryout and deli items, as well as a standing counter accommodating up to four to six diners.

“At Westbard Square, we’ll be able to explore the boundaries of what barbecue can be while honoring its roots,” Chef Silver said. “Every dish reflects our commitment to creativity and tradition, from the short rib pastrami and pulled lamb shoulder to the chocolate babka buns.”
Behind the counter in this small — but savory — space, a pegboard menu lists the daily specials and available carryout and deli items, an expansion of what has been available from Chef’s mobile operation.
Guests are anticipating innovative new offerings like the Brisket Steak and Cheese, “layered with gruyère and fried chicken skin on a sourdough challah hoagie,” or the vegetarian Falafel Sandwich, “bursting with Israeli salad, pepper relish, tahini, and amba,” plus classic deli sides like Lemon Schmaltz Potatoes and Harissa-Smoked Carrots.
A freezer section makes it possible to stock-up on comfort foods like Chili, Matzo Ball Soup, Chicken Pot Pie, Shepherd’s Pie as well as Rugelach Dough, and Take-and-Bake Bourekas.
And yes, there’s even merch.

Silver & Sons BBQ is now open Wednesday-Saturday, 11am – 7:30pm and Sunday, 11am – 6pm.
