Because “Social Clubs” Are the Latest Thing
Buena Vida Social Club opened this week in Arlington. Social Clubs — not to be confused with bars, lounges, gastropubs and the like — are the latest in the dining/drinks/diversions trend, and Ivan Iricanin‘s (Street Guys Hospitality) newest occupies the entire third floor of the newly opened La Esquina de Clarendon at 2900 Wilson Blvd. (also housing TTT Mexican Diner & Buena Vida Clarendon).
What to expect? This one feels like you’re outside at a beach bar in Acapulco, surrounded by bright shades of blue, aqua, and mauve. Order up your margaritas, mojitos, sangrias and Island Juju Spritz’s from two full bars before settling in to one of the pastel-cushioned perimeter booths and spying on everyone socializing in the interior lounge.
There’s a cooling mister if you get too in-the-mix… and for those who can’t just hangout, the venue also offers social succor with a lounge hookah.
Open daily for drinks and dinner, from 4 p.m. until 2 a.m., Buena Vida Social Club is an ideal way to celebrate longer days and warmer nights, especially with that DJ spinning on weekends (Thurs- Sun). Also linger over brunch Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Build your own tacos or taste from a menu of traditional, indigenous casual Mexican fare.
