AKA Alexandria Becomes The Satire, Bringing Marriott Perks to a Northern Virginia Favorite
A familiar face in Alexandria has adopted a fresh identity.
The former AKA Alexandria has officially rebranded as The Satire, joining Marriott’s Autograph Collection while remaining under the ownership of Electra America Hospitality and management by Concord Hospitality. For Washington-area travelers, the biggest change isn’t the sleek new name — it’s access to Marriott Bonvoy benefits, including points, elite status perks, and member-exclusive experiences.

Located in Old Town North just minutes from Reagan National Airport and a short trip from downtown Washington, The Satire has already built a reputation as one of Northern Virginia’s most design-forward destinations. The 180-room property blends minimalist sophistication with mid-century modern touches, offering a quieter counterpoint to the capital’s constant buzz.

The rebrand comes with a promise that guests can expect the same upscale experience they’ve come to know over the past three years, along with an enhanced food-and-beverage program. Existing amenities, including a luxury screening room, terrace fitness classes, wellness offerings from Lalita Method Pilates, and more than 14,000 square feet of meeting space, remain in place.

Community connections continue to be part of the property’s playbook. Monthly Silent Reading Parties with Old Town Books have become a popular gathering for literary-minded locals, while on-site dining venues The Wise Fool and Bad Poets Café lean into the hotel’s clever new storytelling theme.

The name itself reflects the property’s positioning: stylish without shouting for attention. Rather than competing with Washington’s political pomp, The Satire aims to offer a more playful, polished perspective just across the Potomac.
To celebrate America’s 250th anniversary, the hotel is also offering a themed package featuring discounted admission to George Washington’s Mount Vernon, a Virginia whiskey tasting flight, a commemorative whiskey glass, complimentary e-bikes for exploring the region, and discounted valet parking.

For DC-area travelers, the takeaway is simple: one of Northern Virginia’s most distinctive boutique hotels has a new name, a new Marriott affiliation, and plenty of reasons to warrant a second look.
