RM Balance Opens, A Restorative Haven in Georgetown
Georgetown welcomes a fresh take on wellness with the opening of RM Balance, a restorative studio designed to harmonize mind and body. Founded by Regina McLinden, the visionary behind RM Wellness, this intimate sanctuary is set to redefine an approach to self-care. (Also, kudos! At just under 30, McLinden is the only entrepreneur of her age to own two brick-and-mortar businesses in the area.)
Blending yoga, bodywork, Pilates, sound baths, and meditation, RM Balance offers a holistic experience. The studio’s philosophy centers on providing personalized attention in small-group settings (capped at 6-10 guests per class), allowing for deep relaxation and mindful movement. Whether you’re easing into yoga or seeking more intensive support, these sessions are crafted to foster a sense of community while addressing individual mobility needs.
What sets RM Balance apart? An elevated wellness experience, of course. With McLinden’s background in spas and hospitality, details are thoughtfully curated. From Bala props and complimentary snacks to extended Savasanas (often including bodywork), guests are invited to unwind fully. After each class, a 30-minute window allows for tea, one-on-one chats with instructors, or exploration of wellness tools like lymphatic vibration plates and acupressure mats.
RM Balance’s offerings are as diverse as its guests. The studio will feature eight styles of yoga, including unique bodywork classes McLinden developed, along with two mat Pilates classes. Private sessions are also available for individuals, couples, or groups looking for tailored instruction.
Class highlights include:
- Strong & Steady Flow: A Vinyasa-inspired class focused on balance and breath with the added benefit of red light therapy at select times.
- Bliss Bodywork Nidra: A “yogic sleep” class that incorporates relaxation, gentle massage, and instructor-guided compression to ease body tension.
- Adaptive Core Mat Pilates: A low-impact Pilates class that uses resistance bands, Bala bangles, and Pilates balls, all enhanced by red light therapy at select times.
- Restorative Yoga: The slowest and gentlest class, aimed at deep rest and nervous system regulation with plenty of props for support.
- Harmonic Sound Bath: A meditative experience for total relaxation, led by the studio’s resident sound healer.
