SUMMARY:The Revival Generation Film Premiere
DESCRIPTION:The official red-carpet premiere of the film\, The Revival Generation\, will take place on Wednesday\, August 27\, 2025\, in the Kennedy Center Concert Hall. This powerful production\, produced by the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN)\, showcases the remarkable resurgence of faith among the youth of America. \nThis uplifting film highlights the story of students turning to faith in record numbers on college campuses all across the nation. Directed by Laura Hand and produced by CBN’s Abigail Robertson\, The Revival Generation is more than a documentary – it’s a window into a spiritual awakening. \n“In the early 1900s\, my mom’s family was part of the Azusa Street revival in Los Angeles which helped ignite the Jesus movement of the 1970s\,” said Kennedy Center President\, Ambassador Richard Grenell. “Today\, we are on the cusp of another exciting revival in America and this film premiere at our nation’s cultural center highlights some of those beginnings.” \n“When we started working on this documentary\, we never imagined it would one day premiere in the iconic Kennedy Center Concert Hall — but God had plans far greater than ours\,” said Producer of The Revival Generation\, Abigail Robertson. “CBN is incredibly grateful to the Kennedy Center not only for hosting The Revival Generation premiere\, but for partnering with us to make this night truly extraordinary.” \nThe Revival Generation takes viewers inside a movement where students are being baptized in lakes\, fountains\, and football stadiums – capturing unforgettable worship moments\, and testimonies from prominent Christian voices\, including Dr. Ben Carson and Jennie Allen. \nAt the center of the film’s narrative is Tonya Prewett\, a mother whose personal journey through her daughter’s hidden pain becomes the spark for something much bigger. What began as a desperate cry for help turned into UniteUS – a student-led revival movement that was born on September 12\, 2023\, with thousands gathered in prayer at Auburn University. Since then\, the ripple effect has reached campuses like Ohio State and beyond\, bringing thousands into spontaneous moments of worship and baptism. \n“As I see the UniteUS story shared in The Revival Generation\, I am reminded that prayer is powerful and great things can happen when we say ‘yes’ to God\,” said UniteUS Founder and Visionary Tonya Prewett. “Gen Z is experiencing spiritual revival like never before\, and we should be expectant for the ways that God will continue to move among this generation. I’m grateful to CBN and The Kennedy Center for their willingness to host this documentary premiere and share stories of revival\, purpose\, and hope that are sweeping across our nation.” \n“To see a movement that started on college campuses now reaching the national cultural center of the U.S. is nothing short of miraculous\,” said Madison Prewett Troutt. “God is moving powerfully in this generation\, and The Kennedy Center hosting the UniteUS story is a clear sign that what began in student hearts is now echoing across the nation. I truly believe we’re witnessing a movement of revival—and it’s only just beginning.” \n. \n\nSCHEDULE OF EVENTS \n5:00 p.m. – Event Doors Open\n6:00 p.m. – Red Carpet Arrivals\n7:00 p.m. – Concert Hall Doors Open and Opening Worship Begins \n8:00 p.m. – Film Premiere and Worship \n\nTICKET INFORMATION \nFREE TICKETS ARE REQUIRED. SUMMARY:Artist in Conversation: Alison Saar
DESCRIPTION:On Sunday\, June 22\, 2025 from 4 to 6 pm\, the National Museum of Women in the Arts is hosting a public conversation with acclaimed artist Alison Saar on the intersection of art\, literature\, social change and how image making can amplify storytelling. Artist in Conversation: Alison Saar will explore Saar’s collaboration with Arion Press\, the last printer in the United States to make books entirely by hand\, to create a new edition of Octavia Butler’s groundbreaking novel Kindred (1979). \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSaar’s limited-run artist’s book reimagines Butler’s iconic neo-slave narrative\, which blends speculative fiction with powerful social critique. Saar’s striking linoleum block prints explore themes of identity\, endurance and the African American experience. \nPresented in partnership with Arion Press\, the event coincides with the anniversary of Octavia Butler’s birthday. Butler died in 2006 at the age of 58\, but her books continue to present timely perspectives on topics of racism and history. \nThe talk will be moderated by Elizabeth Ajunwa\, director of the Betty Boyd Dettre Library and Research Center at the National Museum of Women in the Arts. \nAbout Alison Saar\nThrough her sculptures\, installations\, drawings\, prints and found object assemblages\, Alison Saar (b. 1956) explores the subjects of racism\, sexism\, ageism\, heritage\, history and the specific challenges of being biracial in America. Saar studied studio art and art history at Scripps College in Claremont\, California and earned her MFA from the Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles. Saar’s work is included in museums and private collections across the United States. \nEvent Sponsors\nArtist in Conversation: Alison Saar is part of an ongoing series that reflects NMWA’s commitment to championing the transformative work of women artists. The program is sponsored by Amanda Minami and the Minami Legacy Fund for the Arts. The talk’s reception is generously sponsored by Fred Levin and the Shenson Foundation. Additional support for the Women\, Arts\, and Social Change public programs initiative is made possible through leadership gifts from Denise Littlefield Sobel and the Davis/Dauray Family Fund with additional support provided by Anne N.
