Mid-Autumn is the second most important festival in China after Chinese New Year\, and is a reunion time for families\, celebrated by gathering for dinners\, worshiping the moon\, and eating mooncakes. Tiger Fork & Hi-Lawn are bringing more than a dozen local restaurants and vendors to celebrate under the moon on one of DC’s largest rooftops. \nTiger Fork’s executive chef Simon Lam will cook savory street food-inspired fare and unique sweets alongside 14+ guest chefs/restaurants such as Love\, Makoto\, CUT DC\, KAYU by Hiraya\, Yume\, CHIBOO\, The Sister House\, Yunnan by Potomac and Dan Dan Boy (with more to be announced soon) at food stands throughout the open-air rooftop and the covered Dock5 event space. \nNo mooncake festival is complete without its namesake sweets\, and Toi Moi will serve symbolic\, creative mooncakes. \nGuests can peruse specialty gifts and wares (such as jewelry\, kimonos\, ceramics\, artwork and more) from pop-up market stalls throughout the celebration. \nFestival drinkers will enjoy a special Baijiu + Sake Bar\, pouring China’s national spirit\, plus an assortment of sake\, and other liquor\, themed cocktails\, beer and wine. \nThere will also be cultural performances such as lion dancing and Kung Fu demos from Shaolin Hung Fut Kung Fu School taking place live on the lawn\, while DJs EPX and Will Gralley will keep the spirited energy going both nights. \nEntry to Tiger Fork’s 3rd Annual Mid-Autumn Night Market is $5 and tickets are available on Eventbrite.
