SUMMARY:National Building Museum Late Night: Under the Wave
DESCRIPTION:Experience The Wave installation with a winter evening of live music in the museum’s Great Hall. The Wave is a large-scale research project led by Catholic University of America professor Tonya Ohnstad in collaboration with architecture students and industry partners\, exploring the iterative relationship between construction\, materiality\, and design.    \nLate Night tickets include live musical performances by The Earles and Andrew Earle Simpson\, Glice skating (based on rink capacity)\, and a complimentary drink. Additional food and drink options will be available for purchase from the Konbini by Daikaya\, the Museum’s café for purchase.   \nCurrent Museum exhibitions Coming Together\, Building Stories\, Brick City\, and Visible Vault will be open.    \nSchedule   \n6 PM  Doors Open. Exhibitions & Glice Skating  \nLive jazz by The Earles (45min set)   \n7 PM  A little Silent Night Music performance by Andrew Earle Simpson (45min set)   \n8 PM  Live jazz by The Earles (45min set)   \n9 PM  Close  \nAbout the Performances  \nThe Earles is a chamber jazz group of musicians (and Catholic University faculty members) Andrew Earle Simpson (keyboard)\, Chris DeChiara (drums)\, and guest artists Scott Van Domelen (saxophone) and Bake Meister (bass). Tonight’s program features jazz styles from the 1920’s\, mid-century standards\, and original tunes.  \nA Little Silent Night Music features winter-themed silent films\, animations and videos accompanied by live music. Renowned silent film musician Andrew Earle Simpson\, resident film accompanist at the National Gallery of Art and the Library of Congress’ Packard Campus Theater\, will accompany the program with his original scores.  \nThis program is made possible by support from our The Wave sponsors Amazon\, Architectural Systems\, Hydro\, AIA\, Dyneema\, Harmon\, United Rentals\, and the Graves Family.
