SUMMARY:5th Annual Late Harvest Festival
DESCRIPTION:Crunchy leaves. Spiced cider. Chunky sweaters. Pumpkin everything. Calico is once again celebrating the changing of the seasons with its 5th Annual Late Harvest Festival on Sunday\, October 19 from 1pm to 9 p.m. For the fifth year\, the urban backyard in Blagden Alley once again hosts its welcome party for cooler weather\, with a free-to-attend Sunday afternoon fall fest complete with pumpkin painting\, hot cocktails\, beer tastings\, autumnal fare and more festive seasonal fun. \nThere’s no need to head to the pumpkin patch this season. Guests can pick their very own pumpkins from Calico’s pop-up patch and decorate them with complimentary painting supplies. \nThe fall fest will serve as the preview of Calico’s new seasonal menu\, featuring autumnal cookout fare from Chef Nathan Beauchamp\, such as chili cheese dogs\, and mugs of soup and chili. \nSeasonal libations will range from spiked hot drinks and Maple Syrup Old Fashioneds to Oktoberfest and fall beers\, plus non-alcoholic hot cider. \nRounding out the lively festivities will be a festive photo area in the antique greenhouse\, complete with leaves\, pumpkins\, and corn stalks for the perfect photo-op. \nLocal Manor Hill Brewing will pour complimentary seasonal beer tastings\, including their Festbier and Prized Pumpkin Ale\, for adults (21+) from 1-4 pm. \nCalico’s 5th Annual Late Harvest Festival is free to attend and open to the public\, with all pumpkins\, food and beverages sold a la carte. For more information\, please visit www.calicodc.com or call 202-791-0134.
