SUMMARY:High-Octane Ball (HOB) Charity Gala
DESCRIPTION:The High-Octane Ball (HOB) Charity Gala\, a sister event to the highly acclaimed Old Town Festival of Speed & Style\, is set to take place the night before the Festival\, on Saturday\, May 17\, 2025\, from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The HOB will be hosted in the showroom of Land Rover Alexandria\, the presenting sponsor for the charity gala. Land Rover Alexandria is located at 5900 McGuin Drive\, Alexandria\, VA 22310. \nThe theme for this year’s gala is the James Bond 007 inspired “Casino Royale” style\, highlighting the sophisticated and elegant black-tie formalwear as the recommended attire. \nNow in its sixth year\, the HOB is designed to highlight the Style element of the Festival’s emphasis on Speed & Style\, and is designed specifically to support local Alexandria-based charitable organizations. \nThis year’s non-profit beneficiaries are: ALIVE!\, Community Lodgings and National Breast Center Foundation. \n\nALIVE! is dedicated to fighting poverty and hunger in Alexandria\nCommunity Lodgings aids impoverished families that experience homelessness to build a more sustainable life\nThe National Breast Center Foundation exists to increase the individual survivability of breast cancer for everyone\n\nThese three beneficiaries provide massive support for those in the Alexandria community that need help in ending the cycle of poverty and creating educational opportunities in their youth programs and tackling the challenge of breast cancer. Attendees are highly encouraged to bring their wallets and a giving heart to help these deserving local charities. \nTickets to The High-Octane Ball are $150.00 each\, and can be purchased via the HOB Website at www.HighOctaneBall.com. The purchase price and all donations are tax-deductible. \nThe evening begins at 7:00 p.m. and includes valet parking upon arrival\, and a red-carpet entrance hosted special gala emcee\, “Joan Rivers.” From 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. guests will be serenaded by a lounge singer while partaking of the hand-crafted appetizers and drinks. Dinner will be served at 8:00 p.m. and will be provided by a selection of locally based restaurants sharing their specialties. An extraordinary cocktail mixologist will also be present to shake (not stir) that famous martini or any other specialty drink. \nAlso featured will be a silent auction that includes bidding items such as travel excursions and fun experiential activities\, along with a very special real-time event to auction. The evening will end with plenty of dancing and conviviality. \nDavid Garibaldi\, a world-renowned painter\, will be creating a piece of art live at the gala and will then be auctioned to the highest bidder. His paintings typically sell for more than $100\,000\, and all proceed from his work will go to the HOB’s charities.
