NMWA Nights Bash
To close out the National Museum of Women in the Art’s Spring 2026 series of after-hours events, the NMWA Nights Bash on Wednesday, May 20 from 5:30-8 p.m., features art, music, performances, interactive experiences, cocktails, and art-making. The series will open again in the fall.
The NMWA Nights Bash spotlights live performances by The Lion’s Den DMV, a Filipina-founded, DMV-based dance company, and chitra.MOVES, an experimental collective of diverse artists that blends Hip Hop, Street Dance, and Indian Classical Dance. Acclaimed tattoo pop-up tattooist Katie Heartbreaker offers on-site, pop-up tattoos (attendees must sign up in advance to reserve a session; limited availability). Those looking for something less permanent can enjoy some temporary tattoos and add a little flair to their look with a hands-on, beaded pin art-making activity.
Tours run all night through 80 years of abstraction in the exhibition Making Their Mark: Works from the Shah Garg Collection. Plus, guests can enjoy a high-energy set from DJ Gabz and open dance floor. Visitors are invited to come dressed in a bold look that channels an artist, artwork, or creative movement, drawing inspiration from the power of works on view and the inventive theme: “nowhere to wear it!”
Two drink tickets are included with admission; additional beverages and food are available for purchase.
