Everybody with a Mammy and a mason jar knows that late summer is the season for canning.  But how to can?! That’s more of a conundrum.

So check out this new class we found offered by Chef Harper McClure of the Federalist to learn his tricks of the trade for pickling and preserving:

Preserving Summer’s Bounty Canning Class 

Saturday, August 25, 2 – 4 PM, $50

The class includes a demo from chef McClure on how to properly can, pickle and preserve; each guest will take their  just-pickled products home to enjoy with friends and family. Attendees will also receive a jar of preserves from the Federalist.
