Willie Sells out Wolf Trap

Willie Nelson is “On the Road Again.”

The legendary country music star – albeit with shorter hair and a trimmed beard – took to Wolf Trap’s Filene Center stage Tuesday night with a crowd rousing non-stop music mix of favorites, including “Crazy,” “Mama, Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys,” and “You Were Always on My Mind.”

Willie’s unwavering and unmistakable voice and praiseworthy guitar playing were complemented by by Mickey Raphael (harmonica) and the rest of the band family.

Six signature red bandanas – first worn by Willie – were thrown into the first rows of the audience throughout the night.

It was the seven time Grammy winner’s first tour stop so close to the Capitol in years, prompting a sellout crowd for the seasoned songmaker.
